Here are the games I played in June

Apex Legends

Apex introduced Arenas which added a more Counter Strike vibe to it and shook up the game. The new legend Valkyrie, I found to be quite beneficial during my solo games as I could use her Skyward dive ultimate to escape tricky situations. In my coop games the ultimate has caused a few more mistakes as I over estimate the reach of the fall trajectory. Overall Apex Legends is remaining a consistent and continually enjoyable game.

CSGO

Counter Strike: Global Offensive is a game that has quite a high learning curve compared to other shooters and remains a highly competitive game. I have been slowly getting better at it over the years. Whether the recent changes to prime have caused my recent issues, that remains to be seen. Lately when matchmaking, we are either going against cheaters or people ranked 3/4 levels higher and it has been really taxing and not fun to play.

Phantom Abyss

Phantom Abyss is an asynchronous multiplayer game which throws players into procedurally generated temples, where you only get one chance to complete the level. Players have to avoid deadly traps and any guardians to reach the end and retrieve the relic. Previous players appear as ghostly figures which you can follow as they complete their attempt at the temple, until they meet their deadly demise. It has been quite a fun and enjoyable game that challenges you without being too intense and time consuming.

Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves recently released their latest update. This update was an epic collaboration between Rare, Xbox and Disney which brought Pirates of the Caribbean to the Sea of Thieves. Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life introduced 5 new tall tales, which involves rescuing and assisting Jack Sparrow, and stopping Davy Jones from taking over the Sea of Thieves. This collaboration was highly enjoyable, albeit with a few bugs that caused a couple of resets.

Valorant

When Valorant was released last year, I was excited to try a new FPS, however I was struggling with the gun mechanics and character abilities, so I left it to collect dust. Since CSGO has been causing me a lot of grievance, I decided to jump back into Valorant to try and rejuvenate my FPS love. After trying a few games, I actually was enjoying myself and wanted to play more. Valorant has a good selection of characters with ranging abilities, although unlocking each character seems to be a bit of a grind.
