Earlier this year, I entered a competition with Press Start Australia. This competition was to become the Lenovo Legion Epprentice 3.0. The objective was to write 100 or less on a video game or video game topic that was important to me. I chose couch co-op games and how they are slowly dying out but games like It Takes Two and A Way Out are bringing them back. The guys are Press Start and Lenovo seemed to like my idea and I was chosen :D

As part of the prize there were a few components that were conducted.

I got to have a one-on-one mentorship session with Press Start’s founder and editor Shannon Grixti. During this session, we talked about Press Starts origins and how it has become such a successful gaming news website, we also discussed Shannon’s career path, and we discussed what it takes to become a gaming content creator. This was very insightful, if not slightly awkward as we were being filmed :P I also had to film a little snippet of myself and it took about a dozen times as I was so nervous.

The guys at Lenovo sent me a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptop, powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 and a RTX 3070. Boasting a 2560x1600 resolution and 165hz refresh rate. Let’s just say that I may have created a few little green eyed monsters amongst my gaming mates.

I also attended a Press Start podcast talking about co-op gaming and contributing to that particular weeks gaming news. The guys from Press Start were all super nice and very supportive.

Finally my article was published by Press Start Australia. Here I talk about my passion for couch co-op gaming and how it was the foundation of my gaming life.

Overall, it has been a fantastic journey so far, and I’m slowly convincing people to let me write more :D
